About Intervenr
What is Intervenr?
The Intervenr platform uses a Chrome browser extension designed to help researchers study how people access information online.
How does it work?
Intervenr runs as an extension in your Chrome browser.
When you join, we’ll walk you through creating your account and installing
the browser extension, which will collect browsing history data from your web browser for a limited period of time, and may change your Google Search user experience.
At certain points during the study period, we will ask you to answer a short survey, and at the end of the data
collection period, you will be compensated with payment on Prolific.
Is my data safe using Intervenr?
Keeping your data safe is our top priority; your participation will be kept strictly confidential and your data will be stored securely on servers at Northeastern University.
For more information, see our Privacy page.
Who are we?
We are a group of researchers from University of Pennsylvania and Northeastern University,
studying the impact of digital media on people and society.
Our team lead is PhD students Stephanie Wang and Jeffrey Gleason, and the group’s PIs are Professor Yakov Bart, Professor Christo Wilson, and Professor Danaé
